Nanochat is an uppercase printing ASCII containing UTF-8 TCP newline protocol usually over port 44322 that can maybe sometimes be used to access Apionet at “apiary.olive.ooo:8335”.

There is a list of clients there. You can also just use nc or telnet, and it's possible to bodge some gopher and finger clients to read the history if they can stream.

the ability to communicate

  • SEND meow meow meow meow! gives the ID of your message.
  • all logs are returned as a response message count, then the messages, then the ID of the last one (which will be the newest message).
    • LAST 100 up to the last 100
    • SKIP 515462 only after id 515462
    • HIST no limit
  • POLL 81724 gives the count of messages after id 81724. not sure what you'd use this over SKIP
  • QUIT close nicely
